Numeris overview: New PPM ratings

Bray and Partners president David Bray breaks down which radio stations were on top in Toronto, Montreal, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver for the period between Feb. 27 and May 28.

The new PPM release from Numeris completes the thirteen week period covering Feb. 27 to May 28, 2017. Let’s take a look the five PPM markets.

Toronto: Bragging rights at the top of the ratings heap went to CHFI-FM once again with a 11.6% share of hours tuned for A12+ (down from 14.3% last time out). CHUM-FM took the #1 spot with the ladies 25 to 54 delivering a 16.4% share (up from 14.2%), followed by CHFI-FM with a 13.5% share (down from 17.6%). BOOM-FM held the #1 spot for men 25 to 54, posting a 12.5% share (up from 11.5 % in the last 13 week book). BOOM-FM lead the way for men 18 to 34 with a 13.1% share. For women 18 to 34, CHUM-FM topped the list, posting a 20% share.

Vancouver: CBC Radio One grabbed the #1 spot for A12+ with a 13.8% share of hours tuned (down from 14.4% last time out). Taking the top spot for women 25 to 54 was QM-FM, posting a 16.8% share (down from 18.3% last time out). Rock101 grabbed the lead for male 25 to 54 listeners, delivering a 10% share (down from 10.1%). In a real oddity, QM-FM was out in front for men 18 to 34 with a 14.1% share of hours tuned followed by the FOX at 14%. JR Country took the top spot for females 18 to 34 with a 19.4% share.

Edmonton: 102.3 NOW Radio ruled the roost for A12+ posting a 10.5% share of hours tuned (up from 10.4%). NOW! Radio took top spot for women 25 to 54, delivering a 19% share (down from 20.1%). NOW also topped the list for men 25 to 54 with a 12% share (up from 11.5%). Sonic lead the way for men 18 to 34, posting a 15.9%. NOW! delivered a 21.6% share for women 18 to 34.

Calgary: CBC Radio One lead the way for A12+ with a 9.6% (down from 9.9%). Country105 was popular with the ladies, taking the top spot for women 25 to 54, delivering an 11.1% share (up from 10.7%). XL103 was #1 for men 25 to 54 with a 9.6% (up from 8.6%). CJAY92 took top spot for men 18 to 34, delivering a 13.1%. Country105 was #1 for women 18 to 34, posting a 15.8% share.

Montreal:  CHMP 98.5FM  was #1 for A12+ with a 16.4% share (up from 15.5%). CFGL-FM 105.7 Rythme FM was tops with the ladies, taking #1 spot for women 25 to 54 and delivering a 14.7% share (down from 16.2%). CHMP 98.5FM was on top for men 25 to 54 with a 18.3% share (up from 17.8%). 96.9 CKOI was #1 for men 18 to 34 with an 18.6% share.
