Slice teams up with ChickAdvisor for podcast

ChickAdvisor.com's video podcast concept asks women, Where Did You Get That? Slice.ca liked the idea enough to back it.

Slice.ca is backing a new street fashion video podcast called Where’d You Get That? in partnership with Toronto-based ChickAdvisor.com, a user-generated content and social media shopping site targeting women 18-34.

Six episodes will roll out on the two websites over the summer. Slice.ca will start promoting the vidcast via banner ads on Monday, and the guilty pleasures net’s blog, Rants & Raves, has written up an intro to the series.

The first episode, titled ‘Style Icons,’ gets fashionable women talking about celeb styles that inspire them and where they found their own clothes, purses, etc. Viewers at ChickAdvisor.com will be able to vote for their favorite outfits. The second episode is scheduled to hit both sites today.

The concept for the podcast won development funds at U-Pitch, a user-generated content competition at the 2007 Interactive Content Exchange in Toronto, before Alliance Atlantis licensed it.

ChickAdvisor.com – which hosts city-based reviews in Toronto, Vancouver, Ottawa, Winnipeg and New York – currently attracts about 30,000 unique visitors per month (70,000 page views) and has over 2,000 registered members. The site launched in September 2006 and features community-driven beauty, wellness and fashion content users can share, as well as rating products and shopping experiences.

ChickAdvisor.com has also done video projects in the past, including one about pole-dancing for Flirty Girl Fitness. Other marketing opps include traditional banners, business listings, sponsorships (for the site, emails or categories) and a product review program.
