Stylish homes mag inks deal with Times Colonist

Island Home & Style, a glossy covering high-end homes on Vancouver Island, is about to fold in with Victoria's CanWest paper.

Vancouver Island’s glossy Island Home & Style (www.islandhomeandstyle.com) will kick off a new exclusive distribution tie with CanWest’s Victoria Times Colonist at the end of this month. The magazine’s eighth issue will be sent to 33,000 subscribers of the newspaper.

Island Home & Style, which showcases fine homes, is currently distributed four times a year. It also hits 300 newsstands in Canada, high-end hotels, BC ferries and Chapters stores. In 2008, the mag will up its production to five issues per year – including a renovation-themed edition. The glossy’s current total annual circulation is 160,000.

The Times Colonist attracts a weekly readership of 203,200. For the six months ending in September 2006, the paper’s average daily paid circ was 71,215 (Monday-Friday).
