Smirnoff takes hockey to a higher level

Smirnoff Ice is helping kick off the Leafs' opening game by suspending stuntmen on a six-storey billboard, 10 storeys in the air, at Toronto's Dundas Square today.

To celebrate the Toronto Maple Leafs’ opening game and bring hockey one step closer to its fans, the Leafs’ official cooler Smirnoff Ice is presenting a six-storey billboard with two stuntmen suspended vertically at Toronto’s Dundas Square, today at 12 pm.

With creative by Toronto-based High Road Communications and media buys handled by The Marketing Store, also in Toronto, the billboard will feature the duo, armed with Toronto Maple Leafs’ gear, battling it out hockey style while suspended 10 storeys in the air.

During the day, the Smirnoff Ice skills competition will give one fan the chance to win a pair of tickets to the 2009/2010 Toronto Maple Leafs season at the Air Canada Centre. In total, 18 contestants will be selected to compete, on ice, for the season tickets at a later date.

An outdoor, big-screen broadcast of the kick-off game between the Leafs and the Detroit Red Wings will take place in the evening.
