Canada’s largest office supplies chain, Toronto-HQ’d Staples/Business Depot, has just launched a new ‘Easy Does It’ flyer campaign in the Greater Toronto Area to publicize both its compact new MailMate paper shredder and a series of seminars for small business owners on protecting against identity theft.
The in-store events will be conducted by security expert Frank W. Abagnale – whose true-life adventures were depicted in Steven Spielberg’s 2002 movie Catch Me If You Can. Staples has formed a multi-year alliance with the former fraudster to give similar seminars across North America. Also in the works is a radio and TV campaign for the MailMate which will break in time for holiday shopping. MacLaren McCann is doing the creative and M2 Universal is handling the media buys.
