Sun Media beefs up Autonet.ca

Sun Media is taking its Autonet.ca brand into the pages of Sun newspapers across the country, while the online destination is getting more video and interactive content.

Quebecor-owned Sun Media is pushing multimedia content at its Autonet.ca and giving the brand its own section in six of the company’s English-language newspapers, extending its market reach to about eight million consumers.

The national Autonet.ca section will reach over 1.7 million readers every week through the Toronto Sun, Ottawa Sun, London Free Press, Winnipeg Sun, Calgary Sun and Edmonton Sun. Online content includes videos and local reports, blogs and the site’s long-term test drive program that gets drivers reporting several times a week on auto features that stand out only with sustained driving exposure. The combined Canoe Network websites promise about seven million unique monthly visitors.

Sun Media executive editor in chief Glenn Garnett says the launch is part of the company’s ‘continuing commitment to provide extensive coverage over multiple platforms, offering our readers more information, videos, photos and multiple-driver experiences.’
