Yesterday, AOL Canada announced the launch of AOL Music Canada, an online channel featuring tunes, clips, previews and videos from current hot artists and emerging Canadian stars, as well as indie blogs.
As with its other Canadian properties, AOL is customizing ad packages targeted to the audience sectors marketers wish to reach. Opps on the new music channel include pre-roll video ads, content integration, branding, rich media ads, music-related microsite sponsorship and other dynamic online advertising formats.
As well, AOL is touting exclusive sponsorship of its Sessions pages (www.aol.ca/sessions) – a newly launched series of in-studio concerts and candid interviews with artists ranging from Avril Lavigne to Snoop Dog.
To kick off its new venture with a bang, Canadians were offered free access to AOL.ca/music, where they can experience a live concert with best-selling artist Feist performing songs from her new album The Reminder. Canadian stars Bedouin Soundclash, Sarah Slean, Moneen and others will be featured in upcoming sessions shot in Toronto. And more than 120 international stars from a variety of musical genres can already be found online as part of AOL Sessions, a series of live, in-studio concerts and interviews.
The new music channel will be promoted through online advertising, relationships with artist labels and PR, with all creative work done in-house.
