Today’s launch of a new ‘Metro Movies’ section in Metro‘s Friday issues brings with it a more targeted platform to reach cinephiles. To flag the new section, the issue features a cover wrap and a keepsake calendar of this summer’s hottest movies with their release dates.

‘Metro Movies’ is an extension of the free daily’s entertainment coverage in its weekly ‘Weekend’ section. As well as local movie listings in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto and Ottawa, ‘Metro Movies’ will include interviews, reviews, film industry news, trivia tidbits and a top-five 5 list.

Metro also launched another ad venue today – an online movie channel at www.metronews.ca/movies. This will feature longer stories, searchable reviews, movie trailers and a direct link to buy movie tickets online.
