And the winner is . . .

Toronto will soon be festooned with images of the victorious concept in Astral Media Outdoor's second annual 'My Toronto' design competition.

The winner of the ‘My Toronto’ outdoor ad competition was announced yesterday by Astral Media Outdoor and the Ontario College of Art and Design. Denise Kwan and Selina Wong won the prize for their design ‘Picture It Your Way’ – two hands framing a magnified green garden against a dull cityscape.

The contest challenged OCAD advertising students to design a billboard that expressed their ideal view of the city. More than 5,000 people voted online for the ad, which will be featured on 20 billboards around Toronto until mid-June.

Wong and Kwan will receive a cash prize of $3,000, plus a $2,000 donation made to the charity of their choice. A $3,000 donation will be made to a workshop or speaker series that benefits OCAD advertising students. And the three other finalists will each receive a cash prize of $500 and one half credit course paid for by Astral for their final year at OCAD.
