Here’s a look at new shows coming to three of Alliance Atlantis’ specialty channels at the start of July.
Showcase will premiere Moose TV on Thursday, July 5 in the 9:30 pm time slot. The comedy series stars Adam Beach (pictured at right) as a Torontonian who moves home to the remote Northern Quebec community of Moose to start a local TV station. Eight half-hour eps of the show will follow.
On July 6, in the Friday 11 pm time slot, Showcase will premiere Sin Cities: A Life Less Ordinary, in which host Ashley Hames wanders the world looking for outlandish people and sleazy weirdness among the globe’s subcultures. The show is based on the UK-produced Sin Cities series. Hames is also familiar to Canadians who tuned in for OLN’s February premiere of Man’s Work.
HGTV has four new series marked for July. In Freestyle, premiering Monday, July 2 at 11 pm ET/8 pm PT, professional rearrangers de-clutter and reorganize homeowners’ rooms without spending a dime. My House is Worth What?, premiering Wednesday, July 4 at 10:30 pm ET/7:30 pm PT, gives the lowdown on how to maximize the value of a home, and features three homeowners in three different cities each week.
How To Be A Property Developer, premiering Wednesday, July 11 at 8 pm ET/9 pm PT, gives two couples $250,000 each to buy and sell a minimum of three properties while increasing their value. Over Your Head, premiering Thursday, July 12 at 9:30 pm ET/10:30 pm PT, profiles do-it-yourselfers who got in over the heads when home makeovers went wrong.
Discovery Health is calling July its sixth annual Baby Month and presenting new series to go with the theme. House of Babies shows viewers the daily drama behind one of the world’s busiest midwifery facilities. It premieres Monday, July 2 at 8:30 pm ET/5:30 pm PT. Birth Days, which celebrates becoming a parent, bows Tuesday, July 3, at 10 pm ET/7 pm. And Hampton Nannies is a docu-soap series that follows young nannies and one male ‘super manny’ who work for wealthy families in America’s ultra-hip vacation spot. It debuts Saturday, July 7 at 4 pm ET/1 pm PT.
