CTV laughs up deal with Comedy Central

More than 200 hours of Comedy Central content is ready to flow into CTV's digital strategy - on whichever size screen you want.

CTV announced a major deal with Viacom’s Comedy Central yesterday for exclusive Canadian broadcast and multiplatform rights to the comedy cable net’s entire programming slate. The deal opens up CTV’s ability to deliver everything from full episodes to clips and ringtones via broadband, mobile, VOD or any other platform.

All Canadian web traffic to Comedy Central’s online assets – such as www.comedycentral.com, www.southparkstudios.com, www.jokes.com and www.colbertnation.com – will be geo-gated and redirected to CTV’s recently relaunched Comedy Network site, www.thecomedynetwork.ca.

The package includes more than 200 hours of current series, including full eps of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, South Park, The Colbert Report, The Sarah Silverman Program, Lil’ Bush, Mind of Mencia, Reno 911!, The Showbiz Show with David Spade, Drawn Together and the yet-to-premiere American Body Shop. CTV also has access to the complete catalogue of Comedy Central programs.
