VisionTV will broadcast the complete first season of Little Mosque on the Prairie in its Monday 9 pm ET/6 pm PT time slot, starting on August 6. The eight episodes will effectively lead into the CBC’s October 3 premiere of the show’s second season.
Deemed a Canadian success story, Little Mosque averaged more than a million viewers per episode after its CBC debut in January. The show’s creator, Zarqa Nawaz, has previously worked with VisionTV. In November 2005, the multi-faith net premiered her documentary Me and the Mosque.
VisionTV COO and SVP of programming Mark Prasuhn said the acquisition demonstrates the network’s renewed commitment to becoming a viewer destination for top-notch comedy and drama in prime time.
