Montreal-based Transcontinental Media has acquired the Seaway News in Cornwall, Ontario. The paper serves about 36,000 households in eastern Ontario. The newspaper is distributed in ad-bag and will join the company’s other eastern Ontario pubs, including L’Express, The Star, Weekly Journal and Ottawa Business Journal. Transcontinental now owns 169 community publications across Canada – printing 250 million copies annually.
