Croc Hunter tribute spans two specialties

Discovery Channel and Animal Planet have something special planned to celebrate the life of Steve Irwin - one year after his death.

CTVglobemedia’s Discovery Channel and Animal Planet are dedicating a week to ‘Remembering the Croc Hunter’ in a double-channel programming blitz timed with the anniversary of Steve Irwin’s death. The weeklong series of specials and Crocodile Hunter episodes airs from Monday, September 3 to Sunday, September 9.

Discovery’s blitz begins with Crocodile Hunter: Steve’s Story on September 3 at 6 pm ET/3 pm PT. Other highlights include: Crocodile Hunter: Confessions of a Croc Hunter (Tues., Sept. 4 at 6 pm ET/ 3 pm PT); Crocodile Hunter: Ice Breaker (Wed., Sept. 5 at 6 pm ET/ 3 pm PT); Crocodile Hunter: Search for a Super Croc (Thurs., Sept. 6 at 6 pm ET/ 3 pm PT); Crocodile Hunter: Crocs in the City (Fri., Sept. 7. 6 pm ET/3 pm PT); Ocean’s Deadliest (Sun., Sept. 9 at 8 pm ET/ 9 pm PT); and a final tribute, Crikey, What an Adventure (Sun., Sept. 9 at 9:30 pm ET/ 10:30 pm PT).

Animal Planet’s line-up includes eps of Crocodile Hunter every night at 8 pm ET/9 pm PT and an hour-long special hosted by Irwin’s daughter, Bindi, called My Daddy the Croc Hunter (Tues., Sept. 4, 8 pm ET/ 9 pm PT). Tribute programming will include Crocodile Hunter: Captured on Camera (Mon., Sept. 3, 8 pm ET/ 9 pm PT); Crocodile Hunter: Confessions of a Crocodile Hunter (Wed., Sept. 5 at 8 pm ET/ 9 pm PT); New Breed Vets with Steve Irwin: Tsunami (Thurs., Sept. 6 at 8 pm ET/ 9 pm PT); Crocodile Hunter: Dangerous Africans (Fri., Sept. 7 at 8 pm ET/ 9 pm PT); Crocodile Hunter: Spitting Cobras (Sat., Sept. 8 at 7 pm ET/ 9 pm PT); Croc Hunter: Tigers of Shark Bay (Sat., Sept. 8 at 8 pm ET/ 10 pm PT); and the show Irwin was working on at the time of his death, Ocean’s Deadliest (Sun., Sept. 9 at 8 pm ET/ 9 pm PT).
