Toronto’s Newstalk 1010 CFRB is launching a search for the next Talk Radio Idol on Sunday, September 9 at 9 pm – and it’s only open to people with no broadcast experience.

Each week, the contest will put two talk show host wannabes on the air for half an hour. Listeners will vote for their faves online through CFRB.com. One will be eliminated, and the other will return to face a new challenger.

The station’s not doling out any compensation for participants, but the winner may get his/her own talk show. Promotion will push listeners to enter via email, and successful applicants will have to show up at CFRB’s Toronto headquarters to go on the air.
