Global wins two nights
BBM/Nielsen Top 30 – Aug. 27-Sept. 2, 2007

CTV is keeping its hold on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. With CBC's Sunday night domination streak over, Global's won two nights of the week.

Here are the national winners (for all persons 2+, all times ET), according to BBM/Nielsen, for Aug. 27-Sept. 2, 2007.

News and daily shows: CTV Evening News at 6 pm climbed one spot to #4 with an average minute audience of 1.244 million viewers (down from 1.283 million on the previous week’s chart). The net’s Jeopardy/Access Hollywood at 7:30 pm stayed at #13 with 899,000 (up from 884,000). Global’s The Young & The Restless at 4:30 pm climbed nine spots to #14 with 848,000 (up from 700,000). Global’s News Hour at 6 pm climbed two spots to #16 with 824,000 (up from 783,000), while Global National at 5:30 pm fell three spots to #17 with 820,000 (down from 883,000). CTV National News at 11 pm stayed at #21 with 726,000 (down from 756,000).

Monday: CTV came out on top with Canadian Idol at 9 pm hitting #1 with 1.878 million viewers (up from 1.643 million). CSI: Miami won the net the 10 pm time slot with 1.138 million (down from 1.319 million) and fell two spots to #6. Corner Gas at 8 pm climbed eight spots to #18 with 817,000 (up from 613,000). CBC hit the Monday night chart at #27 with Doctor Who, which earned 686,000 in the 8 pm time slot.

Tuesday: CTV’s Canadian Idol at 8 pm took #2 with 1.57 million viewers (up from 1.81 million). Global’s Big Brother won 9 pm, jumping three spots to #5 with 1.238 million (up from 1.072 million) against CTV’s Criminal Minds, which earned 954,000 and hit #10. Global’s Power of 10 at 8 pm hit #8 with 979,000 viewers – a stronger showing than its Wednesday time slot. CTV’s Law & Order: SVU at 10 pm stayed at #11 with 941,000 (down from 954,000).

Wednesday: CTV’s CSI: New York at 10 pm won the night with 935,000 viewers (up from 907,000) at #12. The net’s Criminal Minds at 9 pm attracted 773,000 (down from 828,000). Global’s Power of 10 at 8 pm earned 765,000 (up from 760,000). CTV’s According to Jim at 8:30 pm took #29 with 637,000 viewers.

Thursday: Global’s Big Brother at 8 pm won the night and climbed five spots to #3 with 1.259 million viewers (up from 1.192 million) against CTV’s CSI, which stepped one spot to #9 with 957,000 (down from 1.068 million). CTV’s Grey’s Anatomy won 9 pm with 703,000 viewers and hit #24.

Friday: CTV’s Law & Order: SVU at 10 pm won the night, climbing 14 spots to #15 with 842,000 viewers (up from 608,000). The net’s Law & Oder at 9 pm fell seven spots to #22 with 725,000 (down from 849,000). Global’s Numb3rs at 10 pm hit #25 with 701,000 viewers.

Saturday: No prime time drama on this chart for Saturday.

Sunday: Global’s Big Brother at 8 pm won the night with 1.048 million viewers at #7. The net’s Family Guy raked in 713,000 viewers at 9:30 pm and 641,000 at 9 pm, taking #23 and #28. CTV’s Cold Case at 8 pm fell two spots to #30 with 628,000 viewers (up from 610,000).
