Like some of you, I’ve been squinting at tiny numbers for far too long. Time to update my prescription and pull out the calculator because the new BBM was released yesterday. Let’s take a look.
Toronto: Bragging rights at the top of the ratings heap go to CHUM-FM with a 9.2% share (down from 10.4%), followed closely by CHFI-FM with 8.5% share (down from 9.6%) of hours tuned for Adults 12+. Very nice gains for CBC Radio One (7.0% share up from 5.4%), Z103.5 (5.5% share up from 4.5%) and Q107 (7.4% share up from 6.5%). CHUM-FM, with Roger, Rick and Marilyn at the helm, continues to lead the way for females 25-54 with a 16.2% share (down from 18.3%). CHFI-FM holds the #2 position for F25-54 with a 12.2% share (down from 14.1%), followed by EZRock 97.3, delivering a 10.8% share (up from 10.7%). Q107 remains a dominant #1 with males 25-54, posting a 13.9% share (up from 12.2%). The Edge just keeps getting stronger, increasing its lead for M18-34 and turning in a 20.8% share (up from 17.7%). Females 18-34 have CHUM-FM out in front with an 18.4% share of hours tuned (down from 18.5%) with Z103.5 coming on strong, delivering a 15.1% (up from 13.2%) and EZRock with a 10.2% share (up from 5.0%).
Vancouver: CKNW remained #1 for A12+ with a 10.0% share of hours tuned (even with 10.0% last time out). A very nice book for Rock101, jumping into the #2 spot with an 8.8% share (up from 6.1%). A dead heat for the #1 F25-54 position with 103.5 QM-FM delivering a 9.7% share (down from 12.4%) and JACK-FM also posting a 9.7% (up from 9.5%). Rock 101 holds a dominant lead in the M25-54 category with a 16.8% (up from 12.8 %). Rock101 also takes top honours for M18-34 with a 17.3% share (up from 7.8%!) followed by The Beat at 15.8% and the FOX at 15.3%.
Winnipeg: Despite a slight decline, CJOB kept its grip on an imposing leadership position with a 16.1% share of hours tuned for A12+ (down from 17.0%). Hot 103 grabbed the #2 spot with a 9.5% share (up from 9.4%). Another good book for Hot103, which held its lead for F25-54 with a 14.8% share of hours tuned, followed by Q94 at 13.5% share (up from 12.1%). Despite a decline, 92 CITI-FM narrowly held the #1 position with M25-54 posting a 14.5% (down from 18.8%) share of hours tuned. Power 97 continues to dominate M18-34 with a 21.8% share of hours tuned (down from 26.1%) with Freq107 coming on fast, delivering a 15.8% share (up from 5.7%!).
Montreal: 105,7 Rythme FM leapt into the lead with an 11.5% (up from 10.5%) share of hours tuned A12+. In the F25-54 race, 105,7 Rythme FM tops the list at 19.1% share (up from 16.9%), followed by Rock Détente 107,3 at 12.8% (up from 12.4%). CHOM-FM 94.3 takes top spot for M25-54, posting a 12.2 share (down from 14.0%). For Montreal Anglo, CHOM-FM holds down the #1 position for M25-54 with a 21.6% share of hours tuned (down from 27.7%), while F25-54 features MIX96 at 32.7% (up from 24.8%). For Montreal Franco, CKOI holds down the lead for M25-54 with a 13.7% share of hours tuned (up from 9.4%), while F25-54 has 105,7 Rythme FM delivering a 23.7% share (up from 21.1%).
Calgary: Country 105 remains on top of A12+ with an 11.5% share of hours tuned (up from 11.4%). CJAY92 is back to claim the #1 position for M25-54 with 13.4% share of hours tuned (up from 13.0%). F25-54 goes to Country105 with a 17.1% share of hours tuned (up from 14.8%). A new star at the #1 position for M18-34 is X92.9, with a 14.4% share (up from 10.4%).
Edmonton: CHED holds top honours for A12+ with an 11.9% share (down from 12.3% last time out), followed closely by a stunning book for the Bear at 11.6% (up from 7.7%). For F25-54, nice gains for EZRock 104.9 with an 18.1% share (up from 12.8%), followed by 92.5 Joe-FM at 16.4% (up from 16.2%). For M25-54, The Bear is a very strong #1 with a 19.9% (up from 13.0%). M18-34 belongs to the Bear with – wow – a 35.8% share (up from 19.1%).
Ottawa-Gatineau: Hot 89.9 climbs to the top of the heap with a 10.8% share (up from 8.4%) for A12+, followed by Majic100 at 10.4% (up from 7.8%). Despite a decline, CHEZ106 continues to lead the way with M25-54, delivering a 10.8% share of hours tuned (down from 13.4%). For F25-54, Majic100 tops the list with a 16.2% share (up from 14.0%).
