MTV, MuchMusic importing Europe Music Awards

Viewers can catch the broadcast of the continent's biggest annual music event on television and online.

MuchMusic and MTV are teaming up to bring the MTV Europe Music Awards 2007 to Canada for the first time. Viewers will be able to watch the broadcast of the continent’s biggest annual music event on MuchMusic Nov. 1 at 7 pm ET, or log onto MTV.ca at 4 pm ET to catch it online. The show will also be available on-demand at MTV.ca immediately following the broadcast. Select sponsorships were still available at press time.

The Munich concert will be hosted by hip-hop legend Snoop Dog, and confirmed performers include Avril Lavigne (pictured), Foo Fighters, Mika, My Chemical Romance, will.i.am (Black Eyed Peas) and Nicole Scherzinger (PussyCat Dolls). Presenters include Craig David, Depeche Mode frontman Dave Gahan, Good Charlotte, Joss Stone, Michael Stipe from REM, System Of A Down frontman Serj Tankian, Wyclef Jean, tennis champ Boris Becker and soccer legend Oliver Kahn. Among the nominees are Justin Timberlake, Amy Winehouse, Avril Lavigne, Beyoncé, Fall Out Boy, Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, Nelly Furtado and Rihanna.

On-air promo spots for the EMAs have been airing on MTV, MuchMusic and other CTV channels since Oct. 18.
