NationalPost.com ‘re-boots’ with new opps

Only weeks after redesigning its print product, the National Post has injected a new look and lotsa new features into its online presence.

The National Post unveiled a new design for NationalPost.com yesterday, making what it calls a more customizable news experience for users. The changes also included enhancements to FinancialPost.com. The online ‘re-boot,’ as the Post is calling it, follows the redesign of the daily’s print product earlier this fall.

New tools include new video player technology, mobile news enhancements for BlackBerry or Windows Mobile-powered PDAs using a free reader from Viigo, ‘Your Post’ widgets that stream content straight to users’ desktops or Facebook, daily videos and podcasts, including the Wealthy Boomer video and daily FP Podcast.

Creative opps for advertisers include new positions on every online page, impulse ads, cross-site sell boxes on every page, sponsor story tools, high-profile sponsorship opportunities, big box ads through the blog pages, tag clouds, sponsorship opportunities on widgets and integrated opportunities across print, online and mobile applications to targeted demographics.
