Grey’s Anatomy returns to #1
BBM/Nielsen Top 30 – Dec. 3-9

While Grey's Anatomy has taken the top spot, this week's national chart is showing a bit more hockey, more movies and one heck of a Christmas special.

Here are the national winners (for all persons 2+; all times ET), according to BBM/Nielsen, for Dec. 3-9.

News and daily shows: CTV Evening News at 6 pm fell one spot to #11 with an average minute audience of 1.639 million viewers (down from 1.656 million on the previous week’s national chart). The net’s Jeopardy/Access Hollywood at 7:30 pm fell six spots to #24 with 1.151 million (down from 1.25 million). Global National at 5:30 pm fell two spots to #27 with 987,000 (up from 963,000). CTV National News at 11 pm stayed at #29 with 933,000 (down from 939,000). Global’s News Hour at 6 pm hit #30 with 902,000 viewers.

Monday: CTV’s half-hour Shrek the Halls holiday special at 8 pm hit #4 on the chart with 2.12 million viewers. The net’s Corner Gas at 8:30 pm hit #8 with 1.741 million, while Two and a Half Men at 9 pm hit #9 with 1.708 million. CSI: Miami at 10 pm gave CTV that time slot as the show fell seven spots to #13 with 1.502 million (down from 2.403 million). Global’s Heroes at 9 pm climbed one spot to #16 with 1.37 million (up from 1.292 million), while House at 8 pm jumped four spots to #18 with 1.235 million (up from 1.151 million).

Tuesday: CTV’s Law & Order: SVU at 10 pm climbed eight spots to #6 with 1.817 million viewers (up from 1.433 million). Global’s House at 9 pm fell five spots to #10 with 1.645 million (down from 2.427 million). CBC’s Rick Mercer Report won the 8 pm time slot, climbing seven spots to #19 with 1.23 million (up from 926,000) against Global’s NCIS, which fell 11 spots to #26 with 1.06 million (down from 1.425 million).

Wednesday: CTV dominated prime time. Criminal Minds at 9 pm fell nine spots to #12 with 1.533 million viewers (down from 2.462 million). Private Practice at 8 pm hit #14 with 1.431 million viewers. CSI: New York at 10 pm fell 11 spots to #15 with 1.401 million (down from 2.459 million).

Thursday: CTV’s Grey’s Anatomy at 9 pm took #1 with 2.364 million viewers. The net’s CSI won 8 pm, climbing 17 spots to #2 with 2.207 million viewers (up from 1.215 million), but it was a close race with Global’s Survivor: China, which took #3 with 2.131 million (down from 2.187 million). At 10 pm, CTV’s ER jumped six spots to #7 with 1.772 million viewers (up from 1.459 million).

Friday: Only one show hit the national chart, and it came from Global. Las Vegas hit #28 with 945,000 viewers.

Saturday: CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada Game One, airing 7-10:06 pm, fell two spots to #22 with 1.187 million (down from 1.214 million). Game Two, airing 10:06 pm-1:11 am, hit #25 with 1.106 million viewers.

Sunday: CTV’s Amazing Race at 8 pm climbed three spots to #5 with 2.017 million viewers (down from 2.104 million). CBC’s Sunday night movie at 8 pm hit #17 with 1.307 million. CTV’s Cold Case at 7 pm hit #20 with 1.229 million. CTV’s Sunday night movie at 9 pm hit #23 with 1.153 million viewers.
