Torstar Digital and Gesca Digital announced today that Simon Jennings has been named president of the Olive Canada Network, one of Canada’s largest online advertising companies.
Jennings joined Torstar Digital as GM of both Olive and LiveDeal in January 2006, and played the lead role in the launch of OCN in July 2006. The network includes such sites as iVillage.com, cyberpresse.ca, CNET.com, Maxim Online, toronto.com, tetesaclaques.tv and thestar.com, as well as its performance network, Olive Brand Response. It comprises over 2,000 websites and 18 channels, and provides clients with a customizable way to achieve measured objectives.
Over the past decade, Jennings has been a leader in the Canadian Internet marketing and advertising industries. He joined Torstar Digital after five years at Yahoo! Canada as national sales director. Prior to that, he spent five years at DoubleClick Canada as national sales director. Jennings also developed and launched ClickThrough Interactive, Canada’s first online advertising network, in the early 1990s. He recently stepped down from the board of the Interactive Advertising Bureau of Canada after six years of service as chairman (2003) and VP, Publisher Council (2002).
