Musée de la Civilisation first to use new illuminated boards

The museum's Urbanopolis exhibition is grabbing attention in trendy resto-bars in Quebec City on Zoom Media's innovative, motion-activated interior billboards.

Quebec City’s Musée de la Civilisation is the first advertiser in Canada to use Zoom Media’s latest innovation: illuminated billboards. Installed in many of the city’s popular resto-bars, the LED boards are motion-activated, turning lights on and off to capture the attention of passersby.

Planned by Cossette Média’s Québec City shop, the 12-week campaign kicked off this week to promote the museum’s Urbanopolis exhibition, which is part of a series of events planned for the celebration of Québec City’s 400th anniversary.

The avant-garde presentation was just right for this exhibition, says Julie Gagnon, public program and development director of the Musée, ‘because being the first to use an innovative medium corresponds exactly to our philosophy of continually renewing the museum’s ways of being audacious and original. ‘

Adds Cossette Quebec media planner Josée Otis: ‘We are always searching for innovative and emerging solutions which satisfy our clients’ needs. The arrival of the new . . . illuminated boards offered by Zoom Media responded perfectly to the Urbanopolis campaign’s objectives [because they are] innovative, powerful and targeted.’
