Premiere dates announced for anticipated fare

Mayerthorpe and a gaggle of other shows viewers have been awaiting are about to arrive.

Here’s a quick round-up of what’s coming when:

Not long before the third anniversary of the tragedy that resulted in the murder of four Mounties, CTV will debut Mayerthorpe (pictured) on Feb. 10 at 9 pm. The two-hour movie is a chilling dramatization of the surprise attack in the Alberta town by James Rozko, who also killed himself. The film, ‘is both a poignant tribute to the RCMP officers who died that day as well as a complex portrait of a national tragedy,’says CTV president of creative, content and Channels Susanne Boyce. ‘It will generate many questions that deserve to be answered.’

CBC‘s two-part dramatization of author Guy Vanderhaeghe’s award-winning The Englishman’s Boy will premiere on Sunday, March 2, at 8 pm, with part two on March 9 in the same time slot. R.H. Thomson (Prairie Giant) stars along with Nicholas Campbell (DaVinci’s Inquest) in a tale about revenge that spans two centuries.

Bravo! will present ‘Doc Week’ from March 3-7 with new documentaries premiering each night at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT. Titles showcased include: Streets of Encounter (Mar. 3); The Art of Observation: The Photographs of Ted Grant (Mar. 4); Museum Maestros (Mar. 5); Achieving the Unachievable (Mar. 6); and Tales of the Rat Fink (Mar. 7).

To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day (March 17), Bravo! will offer themed documentaries: God Bless Your Feet (8 pm ET/5 pm PT); Voicing Irish Music (8:30 pm ET/5:30 pm PT) and Emerald Shoes – The Story of Irish Dance (9 pm ET/6 p.m. PT).

HGTV‘s ‘Spring Sneak Peek’ on Sunday, March 30, from 12-3 pm (repeating 8-11pm ET): will showcase these new and returning series: The Big Flip II; The Property Shop; The Unsellables; Secrets That Sell; World’s Greenest Homes.

And, because March is generally a hot month in the real estate market, HGTV will also present ‘Saturday Property Marathons,’ consisting of the network’s most popular real estate programs, from 1-4 pm each Saturday.

Over on Showcase, season six of Curb Your Enthusiasm will bow on Sunday, March 23, at 10 pm; Bon Voyage will premiere on Saturday, March 29, at 5 pm; Murphy’s Law will return on Thursday, March 6, at 3 pm; season three of Wire in the Blood will bow on Friday, March 7, at 3 pm; Sweating Bullets will replace Kung Fu at 8 am starting Monday, March 31; a censored additional time slot for Trailer Park Boys will replace the Canadian Crime Block at 12:00 pm starting March 31; along with Billable Hours in a new daytime censored time slot replacing the Canadian Crime Block at 12:30 pm starting March 31.
