ABC releases latest circ stats for mags

Who stayed flat and who saw declines in circulation? Here are some highlights from the Audit Bureau of Circulations.

The Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) released its average circulation data for 70 Canadian mags published between July 1 and Dec. 31, 2007 yesterday.

Reader’s Digest (English edition) is still the country’s biggest periodical, but its total paid circ (868,007) was down by 5.9% from the same period in 2006. Paid subscriptions fell by 5.1%.

Chatelaine kept second place. Its total circ (576,060) also declined from the previous year, by 4.4%.

Canadian Living stayed consistent at about 537,583.

Maclean’s saw its circ (356,165) fall 1%, while single-copy sales rose 11%.

The 40-plus women’s mag More, launched in March 2007 by Transcontinental Media, ranked #23 in paid circ – which totaled 125,000 (86,771 subscriptions).

St. Joseph Media’s Wish saw circ fall 6.9% to 129,657.

Time‘s circ stayed consistent at about 234,451.

Canadian Business saw its total circ drop 10.8% to 81,266, while single-copy sales jumped 43.6%.
