Corus to buy CLT

CTVglobemedia is getting rid of Canadian Learning Television. And Corus Entertainment wants the analog specialty net.

Corus Entertainment plans to buy CTVglobemedia’s Canadian Learning Television for $73 million. The deal must first be approved by the CRTC.

Corus president and CEO John Cassaday says the acquisition ‘represents another great growth opportunity’ for the company.

‘We are convinced that with the access to over 5 million households that CLT currently enjoys, we have the know-how and experience to build on the success the network has achieved thus far,’ says Cassaday.
