Comedy Network to air Stewart’s autism benefit

It's for a good cause. It's headed by The Daily Show's host. It's coming to the Comedy Network. And iTunes and Xbox too.

The Comedy Network’s Night Of Too Many Stars: An Overbooked Benefit for Autism Education, hosted by The Daily Show‘s Jon Stewart, will air live on the CTVglobemedia specialty net at 8 pm on April 13. The next day the star-studded broadcast will be downloadable on both iTunes and the Xbox Live Marketplace platform for 30 days. The iTunes download will be available for $1.99, with all proceeds going to the cause.

The benefit will air live from New York, and feature short films, sketches and live performances. Stars on the guest list include Will Arnett, Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert, Will Ferrell, Conan O’Brien, Adam Sandler, Sarah Silverman, Matthew Broderick, Susie Essman, Tina Fey, Jonah Hill, Kevin James, Amy Poehler, Rosie O’Donnell and Triumph The Insult Comic Dog.

The benefit will raise money for schools and education programs for autistic children and adults in the United States. The Comedy Network will drive Canadian viewers to www.thecomedynetwork.ca for Autism Canada and Autism Ontario contact info.

In October 2006, the inaugural Night Of Too Many Stars benefit raised more than $2.5 million for autism education.
