Nope, the pizza chain didn’t really change its famous moniker. What startled American consumers on Monday – when Pizza Huts sported restaurant banners and a new logo, and TV and print ads ran to announce a rebranding to Pasta Hut – was actually an April Fool’s Day spoof.
But the ploy was also a clever strategy to grab a lot of attention for the introduction of new pasta menu items.
