This morning, Global Television and NBC announced that they’ve greenlighted an unscripted comedy series which will star and be produced by Howie Mandel, host of the hit game show Deal or No Deal.

With the working title Howie Do It, the series will be filmed in Canada, and simulcast by both networks during the ’08/’09 season.

‘We are thrilled to be co-commissioning this project with NBC from Howie Mandel’s production company,’ says Canwest Broadcasting EVP Barbara Williams. ‘Following the enormous success of Deal or No Deal Canada on Global last year, and the continued appeal of the original series Deal or No Deal, we are excited to be the exclusive Canadian broadcasting partner for this brand new series.’

Adds NBC Entertainment’s EVP of alternative programming, development and specials, Craig Plestis: ‘America loves Howie, and we’re so lucky to have another great show that will showcase his unique signature humour.’
