Montreal-based Branchez-Vous.com has tapped Coquitlam, BC-based online and print directory publisher Canpages to provide the exclusive local business search for the portal and LeDevoir.com.

Visitors to Branchez-Vous.com and LeDevoir.com will be able to use a Canpages search box on those sites for local content and map results from Canpages.ca, which also supports photos, video ads and listings delivery by text messaging.

Branchez-Vous.com is the largest independent information portal in Quebec, with about 700,000 unique visitors per month. LeDevoir.com is the site of the largest independent daily newspaper in Quebec, and reaches 300,000 unique visitors every month.

Last year, Canpages launched new print publications in the Montreal area, and the company says this recent partnership underscores its commitment to the francophone markets. Its total circ is about 7.2 million. A recent study by Ipsos Reid shows that three out of every four respondents in Montreal, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver preferred the Canpages.ca search engine to other leading online directories.

Canpages CEO Olivier Vincent says the partnership will enable the company to deliver even more ‘effective traffic’ to its Quebec-based advertisers. Branchez-Vous CEO Patrick Pierra says the strategic content partnership will add to the user experience of both sites.

Other sites in the 200-site-plus Branchez-Vous ad rep network include GlobeTrotter.net and JeuxVideo.com, and the monthly reach with French Canadians is about three million.
