NASCAR off to the races in Canada

TSN will be ready when the flag drops for a second season of stock car racing's all-Canadian circuit.

TSN is revving up to be the exclusive broadcast partner of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series for a second consecutive season.

Presented by Sirius Satellite Radio, the series rounds out the sports broadcaster’s all-encompassing NASCAR offering, which includes full-season coverage of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and NASCAR Nationwide Series.

The series ‘is coming off a fantastic inaugural season last year,’ says TSN president Phil King. ‘TSN is looking forward to building on the series’ success and delivering great competition and fast-paced excitement to racing fans across the country.’

The network will televise 13 one-hour broadcasts across the country, one for each of the races in the series, until September. Coverage commences on May 30 at 12 midnight ET with the first race – the Crown Jewel 200 at Cayuga International Speedway.

NASCAR’s Canadian Tire Series runs on a variety of short tracks and road courses from Nova Scotia to British Columbia. ‘TSN is a terrific partner and a strong supporter of Canadian motor sports,’ explains George Silbermann, NASCAR’s managing director of racing operations. ‘Thanks to their continuing efforts, racing fans will again get to see all the excitement and drama of the nation’s top drivers competing in Canada’s premier stock racing series.’
