Here are the national winners (for all persons 2+; all times ET), according to BBM/Nielsen, for May 12-18.
News, daily shows and hockey: CTV Evening News at 6 pm hit #16 with an average minute audience of 1.231 million viewers (down from 1.322 million on the previous week’s national chart). The net’s Jeopardy/Access Hollywood at 7:30 pm took #19 with a 973,000-viewer average on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday (up from 877,000). CTV National News at 11 pm hit #22 with 874,000 (up from 862,000). Global’s The Young & The Restless at 4:30 pm took #24 with 813,000 viewers, while Global National at 5:30 pm hit #27 with 760,000. CTV’s Oprah at 4 pm took #30 with 717,000 viewers. The CBC’s NHL playoffs round three at 7:30 pm hit #21 with 915,000 on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday (down from the previous week’s weekend high of 1.309 million), while the postgames at 10 pm took #25 with 765,000. TSN’s playoffs coverage on Monday and Wednesday hit #28 with 754,000 viewers.
Monday: Global’s House at 9 pm hit #4 with 2.296 million (up from 2.098 million). CTV’s CSI: Miami at 10 pm took #7 with 1.85 million (up from 1.829 million). The net’s Dancing with the Stars, airing 8-9:30 pm, hit #11 with 1.598 million (down from 1.61 million). Global’s Bones at 8 pm took #12 with 1.479 million (up from 1.241 million).
Tuesday: CTV’s American Idol at 8 pm took #2 with 2.472 million (up from 2.47 million). The net’s Dancing with the Stars at 9 pm hit #8 with 1.833 million (down from 1.898 million), while Law & Order: SVU at 10 pm took #10 with 1.696 million (down from 1.898 million). Global’s NCIS at 8 pm hit #13 with 1.453 million (up from 1.421 million), while Shark at 9 pm took #23 with 815,000 (down from 862,000).
Wednesday: CTV’s American Idol at 9 pm took #1 with 2.585 million viewers (up from 2.391 million). The net’s CSI: New York at 10 pm hit #5 with 2.049 million (down from 2.168 million), while Criminal Minds at 8 pm took #14 with 1.445 million (down from 1.728 million).
Thursday: CTV’s Grey’s Anatomy at 9 pm stayed at #3 with 2.331 million (up from 2.193 million), while CSI at 8 pm hit #6 with 2.029 million (up from 1.717 million). The net’s Lost at 10 pm took #15 with 1.296 million (down from 1.35 million), while ER at 7 pm hit #20 with 961,000 viewers (down from 986,000).
Friday: CTV’s Ghost Whisperer at 8 pm hit #17 with 1.096 million (down from 1.134 million). Global’s Numb3rs at 10 pm took #18 with 1.046 million (up from 943,000).
Saturday: Other than hockey (see above), CTV’s evening news weekend programming at 6 pm was the only show to make the chart, hitting #26 with a Saturday-Sunday average of 762,000 viewers (down from 845,000).
Sunday: CTV’s Desperate Housewives at 9 pm hit #9 with 1.739 million (down from 1.751 million). The net’s CSI at 8 pm took #29 with 736,000 (down from 1.069 million).
