New Comedy net series pokes fun at reality genre

Reality Bites Back, in which comedians compete to satirize the most popular reality shows, goes on-demand this month.

Reality Bites Back, a new reality-competition show, is set to debut on Thursday, July 24 at 10 pm on CTVglobemedia’s Comedy Network as well as on-demand at thecomedynetwork.ca.

Hosted by Michael Ian Black (The State, pictured), the half-hour, eight-episode series makes fun of the reality genre, especially such popular shows as American Idol and Survivor. In eps with titles such as ‘Almost-American Gladiators,’ ‘So You Think You Can Dive’ and ‘The Amazing Disgrace,’ comedians battle one another in weekly parody contests, with the last comic standing winning $50,000. Participating comedians include Kyle Cease (10 Things I Hate About You).
