To encourage Canadians to participate in its 15th annual TD Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup in September, TD has launched a nationwide online contest.
Part of TD Friends of the Environment Foundation (TD FEF), the contest offers a trip for two on a Canadian sailing expedition to participants who register online and volunteer to be part of a clean-up. The winner will choose one of six Canadian prize packages valued between $8,000 and $11,000. All packages include air and ground transportation, hands-on sail training, guest lectures and access to bikes and sea kayaks.
‘Last year we set records; over 50,000 volunteers helped remove more than 87,000 kilograms of garbage from Canada’s shorelines, waterways and lakes, but there’s still more work to be done,’ says TD FEF regional manager Roger St. Louis.
As well, users can post sailing pictures on Facebook using the Flickr application, to a page located under TD Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup Sailing.
TD is publicizing its annual initiative with a multimedia marketing effort targeting environmentally conscious Canadians. Ads will appear in the Globe and Mail, Time, Maclean’s, National Geographic, L’Actualite and Chatelaine, and in transit shelters. FCB developed the creative and the Media Company is handling the ad buy.
