Captivate intros new products, partners

The digital OOH news and entertainment network is strengthening its editorial offerings by partnering with Canadian Economic Press News, QuoteMedia, Ecovert.ca and CP Images.

Toronto-HQ’d Captivate Network, best known for placing advertising in the elevators and lobbies of high-traffic office buildings, announced some new wrinkles today.

The company has begun partnering with Canadian Economic Press News, QuoteMedia, Ecovert.ca and CP Images. ‘We firmly believe that we must earn the viewer’s attention with engaging content,’ explains company president/GM Mike DiFranza, ‘[So] we employ a live editorial team, not RSS feeds, in order to hand-select and boil down information into readable, digestible tidbits. RSS feeds can’t do that.’

DiFranza adds that Captivate’s interactive editorial staff provide breaking news coverage and live programming features to more than 23 cities throughout North America. In addition, Captivate has expanded and branded its ‘Local Link’ capability, which enables the company to deliver local messages, customized event listings and news, like weather and ski reports.

Captivate has also extended its reach to computer desktops by introducing a number of blogs based on topics popular with its viewers. The new blogs include: People Tell Me I Look Like Han Solo, which reviews movies and DVDs; The Quaffer, which highlights new wines from around the world for the budget-conscious; and Le Sous-Bois, a French-language blog which discusses Quebec’s films and books.
