Flashpoint takes #5
BBM/Nielsen Top 30 – July 7-13, 2008

CTV's summer hit has already made headlines on both sides of the border. On the national chart, it delivered a 1.108 million average on Friday and another 625,000 on Sunday.

Here are the national winners (for all persons 2+; all times ET), according to BBM/Nielsen, for July 7-13, 2008.

News and daily shows: CTV Evening News at 6 pm hit #6 with an average minute audience of 1.089 million viewers (up from one million on the previous week’s national chart). Global’s The Young & The Restless at 4:30 pm took #15 with 793,000 (down from 802,000). CTV National News at 11 pm hit #18 with 731,000 (up from 705,000). Global’s News Hour at 6 pm took #19 with 718,000 (up from 705,000), while Global National at 5:30 pm stayed at #20 with 709,000 (up from 704,000). CTV’s Jeopardy/Access Hollywood at 7:30 pm took #22 for Thursday and Friday’s average of 641,000 (down from 715,000). CBC National News at 10 pm hit #23 with 630,000 viewers.

Monday: Global’s House at 9 pm stayed at #7 with 1.087 million viewers (up from 950,000). CTV’s CSI: Miami at 10 pm took #8 with 1.034 million (up from 793,000), while Canadian Idol‘s Monday-Tuesday 8 pm average put it at #11 with 984,000 (up from 896,000). Global’s Bones at 8 pm took #13 with 901,000 (up from 811,000). CTV’s Corner Gas at 9 pm hit #26 with 591,000 viewers.

Tuesday: Aside from Canadian Idol (see Monday), Global’s Wipeout at 8 pm hit #9 with 1.013 million viewers (up from 629,000). CTV’s Law & Order: SVU at 10 pm took #14 with 823,000 (up from 545,000 attracted by Without a Trace the previous week). Criminal Minds on CTV’s 9 pm sked hit #25 with 620,000 viewers.

Wednesday: CTV’s CSI: New York at 10 pm hit #2 with 1.313 million viewers (down from 1.363 million), while So You Think You Can Dance, airing 8-10 pm, took #3 with 1.25 million (down from 1.448 million). The net’s Canadian Idol at 7:30 pm hit #17 with 732,000 (down from 781,000).

Thursday: CTV’s So You Think You Can Dance at 9 pm hit #1 with 1.327 million viewers (down from 1.569 million), while Law & Order: CI at 10 pm took #4 with 1.158 million (up from 1.102 million) and CSI at 8 pm hit #10 with 1.008 million viewers (up from 974,000).

Friday: CTV’s Flashpoint at 10 pm hit #5 with 1.108 million viewers. The net’s Ghost Whisperer at 8 pm took #29 with 530,000, while CSI at 9 pm hit #30 with 526,000.

Saturday: CTV’s weekend evening news programming average for Saturday-Sunday at 6 pm put it at #16 on the chart with 772,000 viewers (up from 682,000).

Sunday: Global’s Big Brother hit #12 with 949,000 viewers, winning the night and the 8 pm time slot. The net’s Family Guy at 9 pm took #21 with 665,000 (up from 656,000). CTV’s Flashpoint at 10 pm hit #24 with 625,000 viewers. CBC’s Maria performances took #27 at 8 pm with 571,000, while the pubcaster’s Calgary Stampede coverage at 9 pm settled in at #28 with 535,000 viewers.
