A branded cab, courtesy of Newfoundland & Labrador Tourism, will be cruising around Toronto for the next three weeks offering free rides to sweaty urbanites. The cab is equipped with cool air, video clips of impressive NL scenery, and even bottled water from the province.
The effort is part of the ‘Get Carried Away’ promo, which includes a contest to win a trip to experience the province’s ‘fresh air and ample breathing room.’
It’s being driven by Newfoundland & Labradorian Melanie Mooney, who will cheerfully chat up her home province. The cab runs on natural gas, and NL Tourism is buying carbon offsets for each kilometre driven.
