Adcentricity beefs up Toronto team

The digital out-of-home operator is strengthening its Canadian staff with recent hires in sales and the appointment of a former Global TV president to its board.

Former president and COO of Global TV Kevin Shea has joined the board of directors for Toronto and New York-based digital out-of-home operator Adcentricity. Shea has also served as president and CEO of Sirius Satellite Radio and YTV Canada. He lead both companies through the CRTC licensing and start-up process. He was also held the position of EVP at the company formerly known as Bell Globemedia.

Shea currently serves as chair of the Ontario Media Development Corporation and is the owner and president of SheaChez, a consulting firm whose clients include the CBC, Telus Communications and Standard Broadcasting.

Adcentricity president and founder Rob Gorrie says Shea has been an ‘instrumental part of our development and growth as an advisor to Adcentricity since the organization’s early days. His experience and expertise in the media industry have provided great insight into how to best support the media partners we service.’

Last month, Adcentricity announced two sales hires for its Toronto headquarters as part of its growth plans for this year. Noel Geer was appointed senior account exec. Prior to that post, Geer worked with Pattison Outdoor for seven years. Ron Boldovitch was appointed account executive. He was most recently senior sales director with Greenfield Online, and previously held spots with the CFL and Nielsen’s Media Research.

Adcentricity represents over 100,000 placed-based screens in universities, shopping centres, transit, sporting/events centres, convenience stores, restaurants/bars, elevators, gas stations, office buildings and ATMs.
