Oh Baby! Magazine due in Quebec market

The three-year-old pub is launching a French-language edition. Delivery is expected in seven months.

The free Toronto-based magazine focusing on women and pregnancy Oh Baby! is launching a French version in March 2009.

Oh Baby! Quebec will launch with a circulation of 40,000 copies, published every four months (with localized content) in over 30 Sears Canada locations and select maternity and baby stores and prenatal facilities throughout the province. It will be officially launched at the Parents and Kids Fair at Place Bonaventure in Montreal from April 2 to 5.

Oh Baby! Quebec will allow us to expand to areas that up until now we could only reach through our online version,’ says publisher Nick Eliades. ‘Now we can officially call ourselves a national magazine.’ He says the site has about 1,000 unique visitors each day.

Oh Baby! Magazine currently distributes 175,000 copies quarterly in Ontario Early Years Centers, Sears Canada, Rexall Pharma Plus and Once Upon A Child stores, as well as baby and parenting trade shows, various doctors’ offices and maternity clothing stores.

Launched in December 2005, the magazine upped its distribution last year.
