Showcase announces fall sked

Will & Grace's Debra Messing will return to the small screen as the channel serves up some risqué fare with new shows and new seasons of returning series.

New series for Canwest’s Showcase this fall include Cock’d Gunns on Fridays at 9 pm beginning September 5. The show features the brothers Van Gunn (Reggie and Dick), who aim to have the biggest band in the world but lack a work ethic, talent, legions of fans and a record deal. Episodes will also be available online.

Seasons three and four of My Name Is Earl, starring Jason Lee (pictured) and Jaime Pressly, will air Mondays from 10-11 pm beginning Sept. 8.

Season five of The Office (starring Steve Carell, Rainn Wilson and John Krasinski) makes its network premiere on Sept. 8 from 11-12 pm, following those daffy Dunder Mifflin staffers in a smart documentary-style look at the 9-to-5 white-collar work world.

Debra Messing (Will & Grace) will return to the small screen in a stylish new series called The Starter Wife, which will make its Canadian debut on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 10 pm. Emmy award-winner Messing portrays the wife of a movie studio exec who discovers a world of exciting but frightening possibilities after she’s abandoned by the Hollywood community that once adored her.

Powerhouse hit House returns on Sept. 2. The show will air reruns of seasons three and four Tuesdays through Thursdays at 11 pm. It stars Emmy and Golden Globe award winner Hugh Laurie as a grumpy but brilliant diagnostician.

Seasons three and four of Numb3rs airs Tuesdays through Thursdays at 12 am beginning Sept. 2. The show is inspired by local events and follows dedicated FBI agent (Rob Morrow) and his mathematical-genius brother (David Krumholtz) as they help the Bureau solve crimes in Los Angeles.
