Notes from the mediascape: ABC sole advertiser for TV Guide next week

In a first for the 55-year-old mag, the alphabet net has bought out all ad space for the Aug. 25 issue, which will also carry a DVD promoting ABC's fall line-up.

Next Monday’s issue of TV Guide will do something the popular pub has never done in its 55-year history: feature a single advertiser.

According to a story in Folio, ABC has bought the issue’s entire inventory – all the better to hype the 21 pages featuring the alphabet network’s fall line-up. The Aug. 25 TV Guide will also carry a DVD promoting ABC’s new and returning series.

Hmm… MiC can’t help wondering whether any Canadian networks have such a caper in mind.
