Rogers rebrands BC’s channel m

The OMNI brand will extend its reach westward by welcoming two new channels into the fold.

Rogers Media is set to unveil OMNI British Columbia, the rebranded version of diversity broadcaster channel m, on Monday, Sept. 1. The newly monikered station will continue airing programming in 22 languages, featuring 55 hours per week of local programming that will include both independent and in-house productions.

‘Rogers OMNI BC is positioned to the benefit of the audience and the advertiser alike,’ says Geoff Poulton, VP/GM, television, Rogers Media Vancouver. ‘We relaunch with a new schedule that has been enhanced by multilingual/multicultural programming from other OMNI properties. This collaboration will provide viewers with greater choice and clients with expanded reach.’

Regular newscasts, renamed OMNI News: Language Edition, will stay on the schedule, as will signature personalities in their respective programs. New additions will include Chinese Super Cinema on Saturdays at 8 pm PT, Bollywood Freetime Movie on Sundays at 3 pm PT, OMNI Language Doc Specials, airing Sundays at 10 pm PT, and its English-language version, Signature Series, on Sundays at 8 pm PT.

Rogers OMNI Television will also unveil yet another addition to its family with the launch of Rogers OMNI Alberta, formerly CJCO in Calgary and CJEO in Edmonton, on Monday, Sept. 15.
