Dragons returning with new twists

Reality series Dragons' Den will now sell entrepreneurs' products online and offer $75,000 to the pitch-person who wins the most viewers' votes.

The third season of the CBC reality TV series Dragons’ Den, hosted by Dianne Buckner (Live It Up!), will debut on Monday, Sept. 29.

New this season, products pitched during the one-hour show will be available for online purchase beginning Sept. 29.

As well, audiences will be able to engage with the show directly by voting for their favourite pitch among those snubbed by the Dragons in the second annual Armchair Dragon Contest, presented by Concrete Equities. The prize is $75,000 for the entrepreneur chosen by viewers and Concrete Equities – $25,000 more than last season. Participants will be able to vote each week by going to http://www.cbc.ca/dragonsden and completing the official entry form.

Viewers who enter the contest will also be able to win $10,000 in investment funds from Concrete Equities, a trip for two to Toronto and an opportunity to meet one of the Dragons.

General Motors (Cadillac) is supporting the show for its third straight season, which is why the Dragons will arrive in the new CTS at the beginning of each episode. Throughout the season, the newest sponsor of the series, Export Development Canada (EDC), will present 20 valuable ‘Lessons from the Den.’
