CTV picks up Merlin for midseason magic

The one-hour all-ages fantasy series is set to join CTV's 2009 lineup after attracting 7.15 million viewers in the UK last month.

CTV has picked up FremantleMedia’s 13-part series Merlin. The hit one-hour fantasy/drama is set to join CTV’s midseason schedule in 2009 along with Lost, American Idol and Dancing With the Stars.

Targeting viewers of all ages, the series premiered on the BBC last month with 7.15 million viewers. It’s set in the mythical city of Camelot before Arthur’s time, when Merlin was a great sorcerer.
