Here are the national champs (for all persons 2+; all times ET) according to BBM/Nielsen for Jan. 12 – 18, 2009.

Monday: CSI: Miami on CTV at 10 pm was the most-watched program with 2.067 million viewers. (World Junior Championship Playoffs took the top spot the previous week with 3.684 million viewers.)

Tuesday: American Idol debuted on top on CTV at 8 pm with 2.472 million viewers (ousting NCIS on Global, which had 1.516 million viewers the previous week).

Wednesday: Another American Idol episode wins on CTV at 8 pm with 2.378 million viewers (CTV Evening News was the top rated program on the previous Wednesday with 1.397 million viewers).

Thursday: CSI at 8 pm on CTV was the most viewed for the day and the week, with 2.566 million viewers (beating out Grey’s Anatomy, which was most viewed the previous week with an audience of 2.16 million).

Friday: Flashpoint was the most-watched program with 1.741 million viewers at 9 pm on CTV (pushing out CTV Evening News, on top the previous week with 1.397 million viewers).

Saturday: Hockey Night in Canada comes out on top at 7 pm on CBC with 1.075 million viewers (it was also the most-watched program the previous Saturday with 1.136 viewers).

Sunday: Desperate Housewives was the most-watched show at 9 pm on CTV, with 1.648 million viewers (The Golden Globe Awards were on top of the ratings the previous Sunday with 1.813 million viewers).
