Testees gets smaller online

Showcase.ca premieres webisode shorts of popular dude show.

Starting today at noon, Showcase.ca will begin streaming new one-to-two-minute webisodes based on the series Testees.

The ‘Testisodes’ are a follow-up to the first season of the Showcase original created by Derek Harvie and Kenny Hotz (of Kenny vs. Spenny fame), which follows two roommates who work as guinea pigs at the product testing facility Testico. Targeting adults 16 to 35 skewed male, Testees webisodes are a potential video tie-in property for brands looking to reach a web-savvy young male audience, says a Showcase rep.

Toronto-based E1 Television produces the series on both platforms, and is slated to premier 20 new webisodes twice a week on Showcase.ca.

Showcase.ca streamed more than 800,000 videos in December 2008 according to comScore, with a total unique visitor audience of 152,000. Along with the exclusive ‘Testisodes,’ full episodes of Testees can be seen on the site.
