EcoMedia is deploying 100 new branded portable recycling units at the World Police & Fire Games (WPFG), a 10-day international sporting event held in Burnaby, BC, this July and August.
The biennial event expects 12,000 police officers, firefighters and correction officers from 50 countries to show off their athletic prowess in 66 events like volleyball, track and field, football and lacrosse. The event will also bring in an estimated 20,000 friends and family of athletes. Local attendance is expected at 5,000 per day, and all events are free for spectators.
As part of the WPFG’s aim to keep the games ‘carbon neutral,’ the special event recycling units will be used at the Games’ 40 venues in and around Burnaby. Branding and sponsorship opportunities are available on the bins, which can be covered with reusable branded vinyl wraps, by WPFG sponsors – including Telus, Grand & Toy and Chevron – as well as other companies that do not compete with sponsors.
