Here are the national champs (for all persons 2+; all times ET) according to BBM/Nielsen for April 13 – 19, 2009:

Monday: the Corner Gas series finale on CTV at 9:30 pm attracted the largest audience for the night and the week with a smashing 2.914 million viewers. (House on Global was most-watched the previous week with 2.109 million viewers.)

Tuesday: American Idol on CTV at 8 pm won over 2.274 million viewers. (The talent show was also the most popular program the previous week with 2.262 million viewers.)

Wednesday: the American Idol results show on CTV at 9 pm had an audience of 1.980 million. (American Idol was also unbeatable the previous week with a slightly higher audience of 2.064 million.)

Thursday: Survivor: Tocantins on CTV at 8 pm was most-watched for the night with 1.786 million viewers. (CSI was the highest-rated program the previous week with 2.265 million viewers.)

Friday: CTV Evening News at 6 pm had an audience of 1.221 million viewers. (Flashpoint on CTV was most-watched the previous Friday with 1.339 million viewers.)

Saturday: NHL Playoffs Round 1 on CBC at 7 pm was watched by 1.073 million hockey fans. (The playoffs replace Hockey Night in Canada which, on CBC, was the highest-rated program the previous week with 1.207 viewers.)

Sunday: Amazing Race on CTV at 8 pm topped the ratings for the night with 2.070 million viewers. (Amazing Race was also most-watched the previous Sunday night with 1.559 million viewers.)
