Global Television announced its summer lineup yesterday, and two new one-hour dramas supplement the roster of returning reality series like Big Brother and Wipeout.
Neve Campbell (Party of Five) and James Purefoy (Rome) star in The Philanthropist, about a billionaire playboy who, following a life-changing event, decides to channel his money and power into helping those in need. The eight-episode show from NBC Universal premieres Wednesday, June 24, at 10 pm, targeting adults aged 18 to 54.
Another new drama is Mental, which follows Chris Vance (Prison Break) as a psychiatrist who uses unorthodox methods to delve inside his patients’ minds, while struggling with his conservative boss, played by Annabella Sciorra (The Sopranos). The medical-mystery drama, which is bought from Fox for 13 episodes, premieres Tuesday, May 26, at 9 pm and targets the 18- to 54-year-old demo.
