CBC has released its first iPhone application, putting audio from its three radio outlets and the main television network on the mobile devices.
The free app, which works on both iPhones and the iPod Touch, draws on 19 audio streams and also carries on-demand content. The programming from CBC TV includes the audio portion of programs such as The Hour and Mansbridge One on One.
‘One of the best features is the integration of the iPhone optimized web site within the application, so that you browse cbc.ca while you’re listening to the CBC,’ said project leader Jonathan Carrigan, on the network’s official blog.
Earlier this month the CBC News released a widget for Blackberry devices, which alerts users to breaking news.
