Muchmusic is debuting three new series next week. The MuchOriginal series Love Court follows a young couple on a blind date each ep, in which the adventurous couple are given two challenges to complete – and here’s the twist – they must do so without their date knowing. After the date, the couple are arrested and taken to Love Court where a jury of comedians decides which participant will receive a monetary award and which will be sentenced to the muchmusic.com prison of dater shame. The series debuts Friday August 28 at 6 pm, and airs Fridays at 6 pm and midnight ET for a 15-episode run.
The dating trial newbie is followed by another MuchOriginal date-centric series, also debuting next Friday. My Date With… consists of a fan being surprised by a MuchMusic VJ then whisked away to spend time with their favourite superstar. The 15-episode series airs Friday nights at 6:30 pm and 12:30 am ET. Stars making appearances on the series include Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry and Fall Out Boy. The 15-episode series airs Friday nights at 6:30 pm and 12:30 am ET.
And continuing in the reality vein, Starmaker showcases aspiring solo artists who compete against each other but live together. The show, featuring Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, has the contestants perform in front of an audience each week and tests them on how well they handle photo shoots, paparazzi and more. The half-hour series debuts August 25 at 6 pm ET, and will run at 6 pm, 9pm and midnight on Tuesdays for an 11-episode run.
Muchmusic targets viewers 12-34, skewing towards the younger end of 12-24. Standard sponsorship opps are available for the series and the network is willing to customize opportunities around each one for advertisers.
